Online Seminar »Sinter-based Additive Manufacturing«
Unlike many established beam-based AM processes that only require a base material and a high-energy beam or thermal energy source to shape the intended part, sinter-based AM processes utilize a binding agent to hold the base material together and form the so-called »green part«. This binding agent is removed in a second process step and the green part is sintered to final density. All AM processes are currently of enormous interest for the industry, since all of them have one decisive advantage over other already well-established mass production methods: they do not require a mold.
